The short version
- We store one location: the home you choose. The app never tracks your phone.
- We never share your data with advertisers, and we never sell it.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.
What we collect
Only what the service needs to work:
- Your name, email address and phone number — to create your account and let you sign in.
- The home location you pick on the map — the single point we measure distance from.
- A push notification token — so we can alert the right device.
- A record of the alerts we sent you, so the same truck does not notify you twice.
What we do NOT collect
The app does not track your movements. It has no background location permission and never records where you are. Your current position is read once, only if you tap "use my current location" when choosing your home, and it is not kept.
- No movement history, no background tracking.
- No contacts, photos, files or microphone access.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics.
How your home location is used
Your home point decides which collection sector serves you. When a truck working that sector comes within your alert radius, the server sends you one notification. The distance is calculated on our server; your home coordinates are never shown to drivers or to other residents.
Who can see what
You see the trucks working your own sector, and nothing else. Drivers and collection companies never see your identity, your phone number or your email address. Driver names are not shown to residents either.
The waste service does see, on a map, roughly where in each sector its app is installed — so it knows which streets are covered. Those markers are grouped to about 120 metres and carry no name, phone or email: they show a covered block, never an identified household.
Notifications
Push notifications are delivered through Expo, which passes them to Google Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. Those services receive the device token and the message text, which contains a distance and a sector name — never your address. You can turn notifications off at any time from Settings, or from your phone's system settings.
How long we keep it
Your account details stay until you delete your account. Notification records are kept only to prevent repeat alerts and are not used for anything else.
Deleting your account
Open the app, go to Profile, and choose "Delete my account". This removes your account, your home location, your push token and your notification history immediately and permanently. It cannot be undone.
Uninstalled the app? You can still delete the account from the web, without signing in, at https://trackiny.dz/delete-account/ — enter the email address or phone number on the account and confirm from the link we send you.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in the app at any time, and delete everything yourself. If you would rather we did it for you, write to us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles your data in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
